(Chicago, IL) September 5, 2013 –Buckingham Interiors + Design, a leading Chicago design firm led by Julia Buckingham, will open a new, expanded showroom space at 1822 West Grand Avenue in the burgeoning design district on September 26, 2013. The new 2,800 square foot space will double the showroom, retail and design work space and will exhibit an assortment of artful home furnishings as well as serve as the design studio and offices for the design team. “We are thrilled to expand our showroom and offer a whole new experience for customers and clients,” said Julia Buckingham, principal designer and owner of Buckingham Interiors + Design. “The expanded space will serve as a laboratory for our designers and a fresh marketplace for visitors to the neighborhood. Each piece we select for the showroom has a story to tell and I am passionate about finding original pieces from markets all over the world – from Paris, to Brimfield to High Point or featuring a local Chicago artist. With rotating art exhibits and carefully curated collections, we have created a design gallery meant to inspire our customers and new friends.” The new Buckingham Interiors + Design space will feature a selection of furniture, lighting, rugs, decorative objects and art, all reflecting the Modernique© aesthetic of Buckingham Interiors + Design. A few key highlights from the showroom include: • A pair of antique elevator doors salvaged from a New York City pre-war apartment building • Mid-Century, multi-colored cut glass wall sconces from France • Vintage, French chairs upholstered with a vibrant Opuzen fabric reflect the Modernique® point of view A media preview will be held on Thursday, September 26 from 5 to 7 pm. An opening celebration open to the public will be held on Saturday, September 28 during the Design Harvest Festival.
